Pakistan’s Jamshed Faces UK Trial On Bribery Charges

Former Pakistan cricketer Nasir Jamshed will go on trial in Britain on Tuesday accused of being part of an alleged spot-fixing bribery conspiracy in the Pakistan Super League.

Yousef Anwar, 36, and Mohammed Ijaz, 34, admitted Monday conspiring to offer bribes to professional cricketers, before a scheduled trial in Manchester, northwest England.

Buhari Applauds Siting Of Transport University In Daura

President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the Federal Ministry of Transportation for convincing the China civil engineering company (CECCC) to construct a university of transportation in Daura, Katsina state.

Buhari made the commendation during the ground breaking ceremony of the newly established university in Daura on Monday.

He said the university would bring rapid development to the nations transport sector as well as generate both academic and none academic employment opportunities to Nigerians.

The Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has pledged enhanced welfare for National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to the state.

The Federal government delegation is presently in a closed-door meeting with Customs officers on the Nigeria- Niger Republic border post at Magama Jinia, Katsina State.

The delegation left for the border after arriving Katsina on Monday morning.

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Mubi, Mujeli Ahidjo, has been released after spending eight days in kidnappers nest, The Sun gathered.
