Ganduje: Court Dismisses Bribery Case Against Governor

A Federal High Court in Kano has on Monday dismissed a suit filed by a Kano based lawyer Bulama Bukarti seeking an order of the court compelling the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate the state Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for allegedly receiving graft from a contractor.

The Judge dismissed the case for lack of substantial evidence.

Bulama had approached the court seeking an order to ask EFCC to provide report of its forensic investigation analysis on the said video showing Ganduje receiving bribe from an unknown contractor.

Delta Earmarks ₦18bn For Warri, Uvwie Storm Drainages

Delta Governor, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, said the State Government would spend ₦18 billion to construct six storm drainage projects to solve flooding problems in Warri and Uvwie areas of the state.

He said that contract for two of the projects had been awarded to CCECC Ltd and Levante Construction Ltd at the sum of N9.5 billion.

CBN Introduces BVN Lite For Minimal Financial Transactions

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has created a new category of Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs) known as BVN Lite, saying this would help to capture financially excluded people in the country.

Governor of CBN, Mr Godwin Emefiele, made this disclosure on the sidelines of the of the 11th annual Bankers Committee retreat held in Ogere, Ogun State last week.

A college lecturer and 10 other persons who were recently kidnapped by Boko Haram have called on President Muhammadu Buhari’s government to come to their rescue.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has neutralised some Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters at their hideout in Kollaram on the fringes of Lake Chad in the Northern part of Borno.

Buhari Is Religiously Biased, His Appointments Are Lopsided

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of being religiously biased and lopsided in his appointments.

CAN President, Rev Dr. Samson Ayokunle made the claim while declaring that the body has lost confidence in Buhari.
