CBN: ₦50 PoS Charge To Be Paid By Businesses Not Customers

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has urged customers not to pay N50 charged to businesses for using point of sale (PoS) machines.

A Director in CBN’s Payment System Management Department, Musa Jimoh, explained the central bank’s merchant charge directive in a chat with TheCable yesterday.

“The stamp duty is a fee regulated by an act. The CBN doesn’t regulate the stamp duty so we can’t change anything. Stamp duty as it is today has been misinterpreted,” Jimoh said.

“Our circular that talks about merchants paying stamp duty according to the law does not say that the stamp duty …

Mourinho Confirm Tottenham Appeal Against Wrong Red For Son

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho said Son Heung-min had suffered enough as he confirmed the club would appeal against the red card the South Korean received against Chelsea.

Son was dismissed in the second half of Spurs’ 2-0 loss at home to their London rivals on Sunday after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) deemed he had kicked out at Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger — an incident that led to the alleged racist abuse of the Germany international.

Anthony Talor, the on-field referee, did not punish Son, but a VAR check saw the player ruled guilty of violent conduct, prompting a …

Liverpool, bidding for their first English title in 30 years, have yet to lose in the Premier League this season and will kick-off on the back of victory in the Club World Cup final.

Leicester, however, pushed Liverpool all the way before going 2-1 at Anfield thanks to James Milner’s disputed …

Rangers Boss Gerrard Wants Example Made Of Bottle-Throwers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has urged Scottish football authorities to make a “severe example” of bottle-throwing supporters if they are serious about protecting players.

Gers left-back Borna Barisic only narrowly escaped a potentially serious injury during a win away to Hibernian on Friday when a glass bottle was hurled at him from the Easter Road stands.

This was not the first time the Edinburgh club’s East Stand has provided the backdrop for a violent incident.

Rangers captain James Tavernier was confronted by a pitch invader in March, just a week after a glass bottle was thrown at Celtic winger …
