The Bolanle-Austen-Peters Productions (BAP) is bringing back to stage the musical, Fela’s Republic and the Kalakuta Queens during this Yuletide in a 10-day marathon show in Lagos. The play, which had won the hearts of many theatre enthusiasts in Lagos, Abuja, Cairo and South Africa in the past two years, is based on the true life story of women who are behind the music of the legendary Afrobeat musician and Pan-African, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and the life in his commune known as Kalakuta Republic.

Nigerian Govt Reveals Plans For Diaspora Voting

Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), under the presidency, has said that the commission was seeking an amendment of the Electoral Law to enable more than 20 million Nigerians living abroad to vote in the country’s general election.

She spoke in Ado-Ekiti on Saturday at an event organised by the state government in conjunction with some youth organizations.

Dabiri-Erewa, represented by the Head, Media and Public Relations of the commission, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun, explained that Nigerians living abroad were contributing enormous resources to national development.

James Bond Star, Claudine Auger Is Dead

Popular French actress, Claudine Auger, best known for her role as a Bond Girl “Domino” in 007 film ‘Thunderball’ is dead.

She died at the age of 78, Metro Uk reports.

Auger who featured in the 1965 James Bond movie, ‘Thunderball’ alongside Sean Connery, died at her home in Paris.

The first French star began her career as a model and represented France at the 1958 Miss World competition.

She took acting lessons at that time and got small film roles including 1962 film, The Iron Mask, about the Three Musketeers.
