Boeing’s Starliner Returns Early From Failed Mission

Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft won’t achieve its mission objective of docking with the International Space Station, NASA said Friday, dealing a blow to the agency’s plans to end US dependence on Russian rockets for astronaut taxi rides.

Officials said the autonomously flown capsule experienced a glitch involving its onboard clock that led it to burn too much propellant, forcing an early return to Earth on Sunday morning.

“We have made a final decision – Starliner will not dock with the @Space_Station and will return to White Sands on Sunday,” tweeted NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine.

Christmas: Police Ban Use Of Fireworks In Kogi

The Kogi State Police command has banned the use of fireworks ( Knock-Out) across the state during the festive season.

In a statement signed by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP William Aya on Friday, parents and guardians were admonished to restrain their Children and Wards from using fireworks stressing that, the command’s position against knockouts is a strategy to encourage security in the State.

The Federal Government has mapped out ₦10 billion as Trader Moni loan to petty traders and artisans in the 2020 fiscal year.

The loan is part of the social intervention programmes under President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

Court Rules On Adoke’s Detention

A Federal Capital Territory, High Court, FCT, sitting in Maitama, on Friday ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to detain Mohammed Adoke, former Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice for 14 days.

Justice Othman Musa held that Adoke should be held in custody pending investigation.

The judge gave the order while granting an ex-parte motion moved by EFCC’s lawyer, Fatima Mustapha to that effect.

Reps Approve ₦9.4bn To Complete Customs Head Office Complex

The House of Representatives on Friday approved the budget of the Nigerian Customs Services (NCS) with the approval of N9.4billion to the commission to complete the Customs Head Office Complex.

The House Committee on Supply approved a total budget of N283.1billion of the Customs for the year 2020.

The approval is coming in the wake of the controversial N37billion approved for the renovation of the National Assembly in the 2020 budget.

According to the budget of the service, the N9.4billion will be from the target surplus of revenue made by customs.
