It was a cultural explosion in Obosi community, Anambra State recently when Nigeria’s erstwhile Aviation Minister and former Corps Marshall of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Chief Osita Chidoka marked his tenth chieftaincy anniversary and annual new yam festival.

Ekiti Residents Wail, As Ureje River Wreaks Havoc

The Ureje River, which runs along the Ado-Ijan Road in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, has earned for itself a scary reputation. The river has brought untold tragedy into the lives of many residents of the area and even strangers unfortunate to encounter its fury recently.

Within four weeks, four persons, including two yet-to-be identified adults and two teenagers who were students of the Ado Grammar School, lost their lives in the river.

Tambuwal Proposes ₦202.4bn Budget For 2020

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, yesterday, presented ₦202.4 billion as proposed appropriation for 2020 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly for approval.

Tambuwal, while presenting the bill for 2020 proposed expenditure said the amount included a capital expenditure of N122.8 billion, personnel cost of N32.7 billion and overhead cost of ₦46.8 billion.

The governor said the budget, tagged: “Budget of Sustained Socio-economic Development and Inclusiveness,” would focus on completion of projects started in 2019 and execution of new ones.
