End insurgency Now, Baba Aladura Tasks FG

The Prelate of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide, (Dr.) David Bob-Manuel, has called on the Federal Government to end insurgency.

He made the call while dedicating the Oil Mill Branch and Akpajo Branch II Pro-Cathedral of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide in Port Harcourt Rivers State.

He said the leadership of the Order was worried about the endless insurgency in parts of the country and would appreciate if the government and Nigerians work to end it.

Blind African Student Dragged By Ankles Out Of Oxford

One of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious debating societies has been slammed after a blind Ghanaian postgraduate student was ‘dragged by his ankles’ and thrown out of a debate in a ‘disgraceful’ incident. 

Ebenezer Azamati was expelled from a debate at the Oxford Union after he attempted to attend a talk on the motion ‘This House has no confidence in HM Government’. Oxford University said: “The Oxford Union is an independent society. The university has no control over its events.”

Woman Drags Businessman To Court For Alleged Sodomy

A physically challenged mother, Latifa Umar, on Monday, dragged Rabiu Abdulrazak, a businessman to a Sharia court l sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna for allegedly having sex with her eight-year-old son.
The complainant, who resides at Kano road area of Kaduna, told the court that the defendant had been taking her son out without her consent.

“He used to take my son out to spend one or to two days with him; my son always comes home late at night; when I asked him about my son, he pushed me and called me a mad woman,” she said.

The Acting Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Energy, Science and Technology, Mr Seker Akaa, his pregnant wife and two kids were burnt to death in a fire incident in Makurdi early hours of Monday.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Benue, DSP Sewuese Anene confirmed the inferno to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Makurdi.

Anene said the fire started at about 2.40 a.m at Kwarafa Quaters, Makurdi.

Chile’s President Condemns Police Violence After Unrest

President Sebastian Pinera condemned on Sunday for the first time what he called abuses committed by police in dealing with four weeks of violent unrest that have rocked Chile.

Air Peace Signs Order For 3 E195-E2 Jets, Worth $212.6m

Air Peace Airline says it has signed a contract with Embraer for three additional E195-E2 aircraft, worth $212.6 million.

The company in a statement on Sunday in Lagos said the contract confirmed the purchase rights from the original contract signed in April. It said the new E195-E2s would be included in Embraer’s 2019 fourth-quarter backlog, and the $212.6 million was based on Embraer’s current list prices.

The E195-E2 is the largest aircraft in the E-Jet E2 family.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and human rights activist, Mr. Femi Falana, has called for the suspension of Morocco from the African Union over the alleged illegal occupation of parts of the territory of Western Sahara.

Report: ₦1.2tn Spent On IDPs By Govts, Donor Agencies

The International Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) said weekend that the federal government and the international community have so far expended ₦1.2 trillion on Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the North-east.

The Norwegian-based centre said the amount was spent on health, housing and livelihoods of displaced persons.

Boeing Expects 737 MAX To Return To Service January

The US aircraft manufacturer, Boeing, has said while the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and international aviation regulators would determine the timing of certification and return to service of 737 Max, the company continues to target FAA certification of the updated flight control software by the end of this quarter.

Boeing, said it was possible that it could resume deliveries of the 737 MAX in December, subject to when the FAA issues an Airworthiness Directive for the aircraft.
