North-East State Assemblies Initiate Bill To Regulate NGOs

The State Houses of Assembly of the six North-east states of  Adamawa,  Bauchi, Borno, Yobe, Gombe and Taraba, have introduced a bill to regulate and co-ordinate the activities of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in the Boko Haram insurgents ravaged region.

This may not be unconnected to the recent allegation made by the Nigerian military that some NGOs under the guise of providing succour to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are fronting for the Boko Haram insurgents.

Nigeria is Africa’s largest importer of foreign fish, with a demand for more than 3m metric tonnes each year. Despite having an Atlantic coastline of 853km (530 miles), the country is unable to provide fish for a population that is predicted to double by 2050.

Air Peace: Allegation Against Allen Onyema False

Ejiro Eghagha, AirPeace Chief of Administration and Finance has denied allegations made against her by the  US Attorney in Atlanta, Georgia in relation to purchase of Aircraft, Aircraft spares and Aircraft maintenance for her employer.
Eghagha insists that none of the allegations involve any third  party funds but relate to funds belonging to her employer and utilized in the Airline business.

EFCC Uncovers Alleged ₦5bn Kwara IGR Diversion

The Defence Research and Development Bureau (DRDB) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), India, to produce the Ramon Improvised Explosive Device (IED) materials detector with standoff at distance.

Sowore, Bakare Sue DSS Boss, For ‎₦1bn

Embattled Publisher of Sahara Reporters and his compatriot Olawale Bakare also in Directorate of State Security Services have sued the Director General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami, claiming ‎₦1 billion.
