Buhari Approves Salt Development Project In Ebonyi

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the development of salt deposits in Ebonyi State.

The project was part of efforts to ensure that Nigeria starts the production of salt in commercial quantities.

The Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah disclosed this during courtesy call on Governor David Umahi and inspection of some salt lakes in the state.

Facebook Corrects Post Under Singapore Disinformation Law

Facebook published a correction on a user’s post-Saturday following demand from Singapore, the first time a tech giant has complied with the city-state’s law against misinformation.
Authorities had ordered the social media giant to correct a post promoting an article on a fringe news site containing “scurrilous accusations” of election rigging, ramping up their use of a controversial law against misinformation.

The law gives ministers powers to tell platforms to put warnings next to posts they deem false, but that activists fear could be used to curb free speech.

North Korea Blasts Abe, Warns Of ‘Real Ballistic Missile’

North Korea on Saturday warned Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that he could soon see a “real ballistic missile” while excoriating him as the “most stupid man ever known in history”.
The colourful condemnation comes two days after the isolated state tested what it called a “super-large multiple launch rocket system”, with South Korea reporting that two projectiles came down in the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea.

The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) on Friday destroyed unclassified and other prohibited films and videos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the officials of the NFVCB, Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Fire Service were among stakeholders present at the exercise, which was held in Abuja.

The items destroyed included DVDs, CDs, copies of 20 in 1 video films, unclassified foreign and local films, as well as pornographic materials.
