Ogun: NUJ Halts Inauguration Of Factional Exco

The National Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), on Saturday, stopped the planned inauguration of a factional executive of the union in Ogun State.

The NUJ said it stopped the event based on the order of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria sitting in Ibadan, which restrained it from conducting fresh election in the Ogun State Council of the union.

The Vice President B Zone, Cosmos Oni, who had led other officers to Abeokuta to conduct the proposed election, confirmed the directive of the NUJ national leadership.

Army Relocates Units To Epe

The Nigerian Army has relocated some of its units and formations located at Yaba to Epe to pave way for the expansion of a railway project in Lagos State.

The units that have been relocated to Epe include the 81 Division Base Ordinance Depot, printing press and tailoring factory.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony for the office complex of the relocating units, Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, disclosed that the relocation would lead to enhanced military presence in the area.

IPPIS: ASUU Directs Members To Boycott Enrollment

The crisis between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the federal government over the Integrated Payment and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) may not end soon as the leadership of the union Sunday directed its members to disregard the purported circular from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation to enroll in the scheme from Monday.
