Health Minister Scores Nigeria High In HIV/AIDS Fight

 Dr Osagie Ehanire, Minister of Health says Nigeria is on track in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Ehanire who was represented by Mr Araoye Segilola, National Coordinator, AIDS/STI Department in the ministry, said Nigeria had made tremendous success in reducing the scourge.

He noted that years back, discrimination against persons living with the disease was very high, saying that today the story had changed.

Ambode Suit: Lagos Lawmakers Challenge Court Jurisdiction

Lagos State lawmakers probing former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode over the purchase of 820 buses as part of the state’s Bus Reform Project said on Wednesday that the suit the ex-governor filed against them lacks merit.

The lawmakers further added that the court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the suit.

NUT Berates N-Power, Seeks Full-term Teachers’ Employment

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has stated that the federal government’s N-Power Scheme is not suitable for the strengthening of the capacity of early child education and does not conform with best practises for a holistic and functional development of the child.

A new Commissioner of Police has been deployed to the Bauchi State Police Command.

This was contained in a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, Mr Kamal Datti Abubakar.

Peterside: NIMASA Contributed ₦16bn To Consolidated Revenue

The Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Peterside Dakuku has revealed that his agency has contributed the sum of ₦16 billion to the consolidated revenue fund in 2019.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna, on Tuesday sacked two Kaduna State House of Assembly members.

The appellate court ordered that a rerun be conducted by INEC to determine who will represent Kagarko and Sanga constituencies in the state assembly.

The Board of Directors of Access Bank Plc yesterday announced that its Chairman, Mosun Belo-Olusoga will retire in January 2020.

This followed the completion of her 12- year term limit allowed by the Central Bank of Nigeria’s code of corporate governance for banks and discount houses.
