Obiano Gives Over ‎₦100m To Onitsha Tanker Fire Victims

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has disbursed over ‎₦100m to the victims of the Onitsha Ochanja market fuel tanker inferno that happened on Wednesday October 16, 2019.
Obiano who disbursed the cheque at governor’s lodge Awka said that six people lost their lives, 10 people injured while about 763 people lost their wares, shops and plazas to the fire.
According to the governor six deceased families got the sum of ‎₦1m each, 10 injured persons with broken legs got the sum of ‎₦500, 000 while other victims got the sum of ‎₦100, 000 each.

P&ID: Court Refuses To Grant Adjournment In Trial Of Briton

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, overruled the British national, James Nolan, on his application for adjournment over inability of his counsel to prepare for his defence.

Justice Abang, who overruled Nolan, ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Counsel, Ekele Iheanacho, to call his first witness.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that EFCC had, on Oct. 21, arraigned Nolan and Adam Quinn (at large), both British nationals, over their alleged complicity in the 9.6 billion dollars judgment against Nigeria.

Ogoni: MOSOP Gives Conditions For Oil Resumption

Ogoni ethnic nationality has released a memorandum on benchmarks for engagement between them and companies desiring to take over the operatorship of Ogoni fields in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 11.
This was contained in a draft document made available to journalists yesterday, by the Ogoni Oil and Gas Production Committee chaired by Professor Ben Naanen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Police Nab Most Wanted Serial Rapist In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a  suspected most wanted serial rapist at the Egbeda area of the State.
The suspect, Chuks Emmanuel, is currently facing interrogation at the Area F Police Command, Ikeja , for alleged rape and fraud.
Emmanuel , according to a  police source has been on the police wanted list for over a long period of time until last week when a special squad deployed by the Area F Commander, ACP Olasoji Akinbayo , picked him up in a hotel.

1 Shot, Many Injured As RTEAN/ NURTW Clashed In Lagos

 One person was shot while many others were yesterday injured at the Igando area of Lagos State when members of the  National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW ), and the Road Transport Employers Association Of Nigeria (RTEAN) clashed. Already, I0 persons have been arrested in connection with the pandemonium.          
The War of supremacy between the two Unions, which was said to have disrupted economic and social activities in the area, raged on until 1 pm.

NNPC To Automate Depot, Pump Station Operations

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mallam Mele Kyari, on Wednesday disclosed that the Corporation was poised to automate its downstream facilities such as depots, pump stations and measurement systems across the Country.

FAAC: FG, States, Others Share ₦3.88trn In 6 Months

FG, States, LGAs Share ₦702bn In October – FAAC

The three tiers of government shared ₦702.058 billion as October revenue from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC).
This was announced at the FAAC meeting on Wednesday, chaired by the Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris.
From that figure, the Federal Government received ₦295.737 billion, while the States received ₦192.697 billion and the Local Government Councils got  N144.987 billion. The oil producing states received N49.164 billion as 13% derivation revenue and the revenue generating agencies received N19.472 billion as cost of revenue collection.

Family of the late corps member who died during the Oyo state electoral process has received ₦1.9 million cheque from INEC.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented a cheque of ₦1.9 million to the family of Late corps member, Miss Kemisola Adeniran.. The cheque was presented to the deceased’s next of kin and sister, Mrs Folasade Adeyemi, at INEC office in Ibadan on Tuesday.
