Boris Johnson will urge MPs to back his Brexit deal in a final bid to get the UK to leave the EU in nine days’ time.

MPs will vote on the PM’s Withdrawal Agreement Bill and if they back it they will be asked to approve a three-day timetable to consider the legislation.

But the decision to curtail the scrutiny of the bill to three days has sparked anger from opposition MPs.

The Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Wema Bank Plc, to introduce the institution to the Electronic Bills Payment (e-BillsPay ) and WebPay platforms.

The MoU was to enable students and other residents of the university community to receive payment and other transactions through the platform.

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has insisted that the defunct Savannah Bank remains a bank with an operational license even though it is currently not in operation.

The corporation further clarified that the bank is not presently under its purview as it has not yet been declared as a liquidated financial entity.

Enugu Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, yesterday, donated 29 patrol vans to 10 security agencies in response to the recent rise of crime and insecurity in parts of the state.

Governor Ugwuanyi, while presenting the Innoson patrol vehicles, said the gesture was part of ongoing efforts to rejig the security architecture of the state.

The donation of the 29 security vehicles is coming eight days after the police were given 65 vans.

The Senate Committee on Niger Delta, yesterday, rejected the 2020 capital budget of ₦23 billion for the  Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs due to uncompleted projects in the region.
