Boeing Design Flaw A Factor In Lion Air Crash: Indonesia

A design flaw, inadequate pilot training and poor flight crew performance contributed to a Boeing jet crashing in Indonesia last year, killing all 189 people on board, investigators said Friday.

The Lion Air disaster was followed months later by a second crash — involving the same model of aircraft — when an Ethiopian Airlines plane went down with 157 people aboard, leading to the global grounding of Boeing’s entire 737 MAX fleet.

Maina And His Son Faisal To Be Arraigned Today By EFCC

The former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina and his son, Faisal, will today be arraigned by Nigeria’s anti-fraud office.

Maina will be arraigned for alleged fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission while his son, a final year Telecommunications Engineering student in a Dubai University, is still unknown.

“Also to be arraigned on the same day, in the same court on a separate but similar charge is his son, Faisal,” the EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren said in a statement on Tuesday.

No Casualty As Building Collapse In Ojuelegba – LASEMA

Lagos State Friday said its emergency management agency rescued five persons from a building that collapsed at Ojuelegba area of the state.The state government said the building collapsed in the early hours of Friday, October 25, 2019, at Rufai Street, off Makinde Street, Ojuelegba.

The government said LASEMA swiftly activated the Lagos Emergency Response Plan for all first responders to move to the site of the collapsed building.

“The collapsed building has now been brought down to ground zero and the area is now safe,” Lagos government said.

World Bank Lied In Their Doing Business Index (DBI) Report

Stakeholders yesterday disagreed over the higher ranking of Nigeria by the World Bank in its 2020 Doing Business Index (DBI).

The global bank, in its report which was released yesterday, ranked Nigeria 131 out of 190 countries, up 15 places from 146th position last year. The report also named Nigeria as one of the top 10 most improved economies in the world for the second time in three years.
