US Deploys Troops To Saudi Arabia Over Threat By Iran

The Pentagon announced Friday it was bolstering US forces in Saudi Arabia after Riyadh asked for reinforcements following the September 14 drone-and-missile attack on Saudi oil plants which Washington blames on Iran.

Defense Secretary Mark Esper said that two fighter squadrons and additional missile defense batteries were being sent to Saudi Arabia, for a total of about 3,000 new troops from September this year.

The move comes as tensions jumped Friday after Tehran said that suspected missiles had struck an Iranian tanker in the Red Sea off the coast of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Kaduna Zonal Office on Thursday, October 10, 2019, arraigned seven suspected SIM Swap criminals in Kaduna.

They are Okafor Samuel Obinna, Chigbo Pascal Chidi, Oha Chukwujekwu, Ahamefula Francis Izuchukwu, Ugonna Nelson Owete, Ikenna Henry and Chinyere Aniobi Jessica.

A new report by Amnesty International, a human rights organisation, has revealed that 119 Nigerians are currently on death row in Malaysia. According to the report. Nigeria has the highest number of foreigners who have been sentenced to death in Malaysia.

Counter-terror police were on Friday probing a mass stabbing at a shopping centre in northwest England that left five people injured and needing hospital treatment.
