The Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State has accused Governor Godwin Obaseki of secretly conceding land to the federal government for a pilot scheme of the RUGA Settlement.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) shunned Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) organised parley with political parties.

There were about sixty political parties were in attendance.

Court orders final forfeiture of Jonathan’s ₦9.2bn, $8.4m

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos Monday ordered the permanent forfeiture of the sums of ₦9.2 billion and $8.4 million recovered from first lady Patience Jonathan to the Federal Government.

The judgment delivered by Justice Mojisola Olatoregun followed a lawsuit filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

People and companies in Zimbabwe hold $1.3 billion in foreign currency accounts, central bank governor John Mangudya said on Monday after the finance minister announced that individuals will be allowed to withdraw their U.S. dollars in cash.

Mangudya told a parliament committee that individuals would be allowed to withdraw up to $1,000 a day from their foreign currency accounts without restrictions but that companies would need to talk to their banks if they needed cash dollars.

Biodun Fatoyinbo, the senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), has stepped down from the pulpit and as the senior pastor of the  church.

Alleged ₦12b diversion: EFCC faults Saraki’s claim

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday said non-confirmation of its Acting Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, has no link with the current probe of former Senate President Bukolala Saraki.

The anti-graft agency faulted Saraki for alleging that his investigation by the EFCC for diverting about N12 billion Kwara State funds, among others, was due to the refusal of the Senate to confirm Magu.

It asked the ex-Senate President to allow the law to take its course instead of running from pillar to post.
