How woman who wanted $1m fake notes defrauded ₦700,000

A 28-year-old woman,  Titilayo Shittu, on  Monday appeared before an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, for allegedly obtaining  N700,000 under false pretences of printing one million dollars for her victim.

Shittu is standing trial for conspiracy, obtaining under false pretences, stealing and breach of the peace.

She, however,  pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Ola Adelowo, told the court that the defendant  collected the sum from the complainant,  Mrs Vivian Uzor after hypnotising her.

The Vatican has formally opened debate on letting married men be ordained as priests in remote parts of the Amazon where priests are so few that Catholics can go weeks or months without attending a Mass.

Over 100 million Nigerians now using the Internet – NCC

Internet users in Nigeria increased marginally to  119,506,430 million in April  2019, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said.

The NCC made this known on Monday in its Monthly Internet Subscribers Data for April posted on its website.

The data showed that overall Internet users increased to 119,506,430   in April from the 115,938,225 recorded in March , showing an increase of  3,568,205 new subscribers.

According to the data, Airtel, MTN and  Globacom  gained more internet subscribers during the month under review, while 9mobile  was  the big loser.

A new report from CBRE, says the rising cost of leasing prime office space accelerated across the globe due to continued economic growth, job gains and limited availability of prime space in certain markets. Of the 122 markets tracked by CBRE, 85 registered cost increases.

The Comptroller General of Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babban Dede, has said issuance of resident permit to emigrants would soon commence.
