Breaking: Court grants Naira Marley ₦2m bail

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday granted a musician, Azeez Fashola (a.k.a Naira Marley), bail for N2millon with two sureties in like sum.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo ruled that one of the sureties must be on Grade Level 10 in the Federal or state employment.

The other surety must have a landed property within the court’s jurisdiction.

The judge directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to verify the bail terms.

Justice Oweibo adjourned until October 22 for trial.

At least seven South Korean tourists have died and another 19 are missing after a tour boat sank on the Danube River in Budapest, according to the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Thirty-four people were on board the vessel when it collided with another large tourist boat in the Hungarian capital and capsized Wednesday at around 10 p.m. local time, according to CNN affiliate ATV.

The boats collided in the center of the city, near Hungary’s riverside Parliament Building and the Elisabeth Bridge.

Police in southern Pakistan have arrested a man for killing his HIV-positive wife in an epidemic-hit region, officials said on Thursday.

The man in the town of Ratto Dhero strangled his wife on the suspicion of cheating on him and hanged her body on a tree to make the death look like a suicide, police official Waheed Mangi said.
