Ambode hands over to Sanwoolu in Lagos

Mrs Bolanle Ambode, wife of the out-going governor of Lagos State and Chairperson of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) has handed over to the wife of the governor-elect, Dr Ibijoke Sanwoolu.

Ambode at the ceremony in Ikeja on Sunday urged Sanwoolu to take the committee to greater height.

She lauded the vision of the founding mothers of the committee, which was to complement the efforts of the government in critical areas that were women and children friendly.

Ambode remarked that the committee, under successive leaderships had continued to pursue a lofty vision.

137 pipelines points vandalised in February – NNPC

No fewer than 137 pipelines points were vandalised in February which represents a 40 per cent drop  when compared to the reported incident in January, according to Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

The corporation made the fact known in its Monthly Financial and Operation report released in Abuja, on Sunday.

It said: “A breakdown of the report indicated that in February 2019, a total of 137 pipeline points were vandalised which translated to 40 per cent drop from the 230 points vandalised in January 2019.’’

A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Kingsley Ferdinand, has advised Nigerians to always study and obey the word of God in order to have innermost peace to prevent them from opting for suicide in difficult moments.

EFCC investigates MTN’s listing on stock exchange

MTN Nigeria yesterday said that it was being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the listing of its shares on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

In a statement posted on the exchange web site by MTN Nigeria Communications, Company Secretary, Uto Ukpanah, confirmed the investigation.

The statement said the company received a letter on May 23 from EFCC requesting information and documentation related to the listing of its shares on the NSE.
