Fulani elders lambaste Bodejo over comment on Tinubu

Fulani elders have distanced themselves from Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore president, Alhaji Bello Bodejo, for attacking All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over 2023 presidency.

Bodejo attacked the former Lagos State governor in a newspaper interview on Saturday.

But in a statement yesterday, Concerned Fulani Leaders Forum, led by Muhammad Musa Bawa (Manman) from Sabin Garin Nabordo in Bauchi State, said Bodejo made the statement to serve some dubious interests.

Easter Sunday mayhem: Sri Lanka bans face coverings

Sri Lanka has banned all kinds of clothing that cover the face and prevent identification, such as niqabs and burqas, officials said on Sunday, a week after the Easter bombings that left over 300 people dead.

The ban does not directly refer to Muslim female garb, burqa and niqab, but was seen as a clear reference to the type of dress.

Nigerian Navy arrests 19 imposters in 3 Month

The Nigerian Navy (NN) on Sunday said its operatives had arrested a total of 19 imposters in the First Quarter of 2019.

Navy spokesman, Commodore Suleman Dahun,made this known in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

A breakdown of those arrested criminals given by the spokesman showed that 13 were arrested in Calabar/Ikang area; 5 in Yenogoa/Port Harcourt area and 1 in Lagos area.

Nigerian journalist Kemi Olunloyo, popularly known as KOO has revealed what happened to Nigerian music icon Davido, during one of his trips to the United States (U.S.).

Olunloyo said in her tweets that the Osun State born singer had eventually gone broke after paying $15m for radio airplay in the U.S.

Her tweets reads: “Davido paid $15m to many U.S. urban radio stations to play his songs on a 60 day media tour.

Sudan protesters, military rulers agree on joint council

Sudan’s protest leaders and army rulers agreed Saturday to establish a joint civilian-military ruling council, a major breakthrough in talks between the two sides over demonstrators’ demands for a handover to civilian rule.

The agreement on the highly disputed issue came as thousands of protesters remain encamped outside the military headquarters since the army ousted longtime leader Omar al-Bashir on April 11, demanding that the army rulers step down.

Former Ethiopian president Negasso Gidada passed away at 75

Former Ethiopian president Negasso Gidada has died in Germany where he was undergoing medical treatment for an unspecified illness, state broadcaster EBC reported on Saturday.

Negasso, who was 75, was president between 1995 and 2001 and was the first head of state after Ethiopia adopted a new constitution transforming the country into a federal state, with increased autonomy given to the different regions.

North Korea demanded $2 million before releasing US student

North Korea billed the Trump administration $2 million for the medical care of Otto F. Warmbier, an imprisoned American student who had fallen into a coma, before agreeing to release him in 2017.

Human parts thieves caught inside church’s cemetery in Ogun

A bricklayer, Kunle Adewunmi, an alleged specialist in breaking into cemeteries to steal human body parts, and his two accomplices have been arrested  in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

They were arrested penultimate Saturday after allegedly Istealing human body parts from no fewer than 35 tombs in recent times.

Nine Nigerians nabbed in US for multi-million dollar fraud

Nine Nigerians have been arrested in the United States of America for defrauding businesses and individuals of more than $3.5 million.

The United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Geoffrey S. Berman, and Homeland Security Investigations (HIS) Special Agent-in-Charge of the Tampa, Florida, Field Office of U.S., James C.
