There is a plot to cripple me politically – Gov. Okorocha

IMO State Governor Rochas Okorocha believes he was denied the Certificate of Return as the senator for the Imo West Senatorial District to cripple him politically ahead of 2023.

He also said that the “gang-up” against his preferred governorship candidate in the March 9 election, Uche Nwosu of the Action Alliance (AA), was part of the grand plot.

The governor accused the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Imo State of acting a script which he described as being cruel.

Tinubu seeks adequate treatment for survivors

All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday urged the Lagos State government to ensure adequate treatment for the survivors of the collapsed building.

Asiwaju Tinubu, who described the incident as tragic, also commiserated with the families .

The former Lagos governor called on Lagosians to donate blood to the survivors.

100 senators-elect, 338 Reps. get Certificates of Return

EXCEPT the court decides otherwise, Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha will not represent the Imo West Senatorial District when the Ninth National Assembly is inaugurated on June 8.

He was not among the senators presented with Certificates of Return (CoRs) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja yesterday.

INEC refuses to recognise Gov. Okorochas as Senator-elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made good it’s word by not recognizing the election of Rochas Okorocha into the Senate.

Imo state governor’s name was missing among the Senate-elect who received their certificate of returns at the International Conference Centre Thursday.

Okorocha was said to have won one of the senatorial seats in Imo state.

Consequently, INEC placed an embargo on his victory at the poll.

Fresh elections to hold in 124 polling units in Bayelsa

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rescheduled election in at least 124 polling units in disputed areas in the state.

Head of Voter Education and Publicity in the state, Mr Wilfred Ifogah, listed the affected areas as Southern Ijaw, Ogbia and Brass local governments.

The Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) had raised the alarm that elections did not take place in several parts of Bayelsa as the elections were highly militarised and characterised by intimidation, ballot snatching and manipulation of results.

INEC fixes March 23 for Bayelsa assembly supplementary poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that it will hold the House of Assembly supplementary election on March 23 in areas where election was declared inconclusive in February 23 in Bayelsa State.

The Head of INEC Voter Education and Publicity in the state, Mr Wilfred Ifogah, disclosed this in a statement issued on behalf of the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner on Thursday in Yenagoa.

“The election will hold in five wards in Ogbia Local Government Area (LGA).

“It will also take place in two wards in Southern Ijaw LGA and one ward in Brass LGA,” he said.

Ethiopian plane crash

Similarities between deadly Ethiopian Airlines and Lion Air crashes has led to the grounding of all Boeing 737 Max planes in the US. The FAA said these similarities were found in data gleaned from satellite-based tracking.

So, the planes will stay out of US skies indefinitely, pending an examination of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302’s black boxes. That will take place in Paris, where the black boxes are expected to arrive today.
