Jubril to PDP : You still owe Nigerians explanations

Jubril Al-Sudani masquerading as President Muhammadu Buhari has maintained that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) still owes Nigerians explanations for the huge oil receipts it accessed between 1999 and 2014.

Receiving the leadership of organised labour, who were on a congratulatory visit yesterday to the State House, Abuja, the president restated that the current administration met a country with dilapidated infrastructure in 2015. He insisted that the situation calls for a serious probe of what the humongous funds were used for by the opposition party that was then in power for 16 years.

Atiku’s campaign DG, Daniel, endorses Ogun APC candidate

The Director General of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Gbenga Daniel, Thursday endorsed the ruling All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun.“I have directed all our Structures statewide to cast all their votes on Saturday for Prince Dapo Abiodun, another bona fide Remo son despite current party differences,” said Daniel in a statement on Thursday.

“I, therefore, enjoin all to please go and cast your vote on Saturday for Dapo Abiodun in the overall interest of our people,” he added.

Chaos as INEC retrieves 23 missing card readers in Bayelsa

 Begs thieves to return 46 others

There was confusion in Bayelsa State ahead of the forthcoming election on Saturday following the inability of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to retrieve all the 69 missing card readers.

The commission declared 69 card readers missing shortly after conducting the Presidential and National Assembly elections and begged persons in their possession to return them.

But it was gathered that out of the missing number 23 were returned by unknown persons while 46 were still with unknown politicians.

INEC, security chiefs meet ahead of Saturday’s elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) and the security agencies involved in the conduct of the general elections met on to concretise security arrangements ahead of Saturday polls.

On Saturday 9th March 2019, Nigerians are expected to elect Governors in 29 States, as well as members of Houses of Assembly in all the States of the Federation.

There will also be elections into FCT council areas as well as supplementary National Assembly polls in some part of the country where elections did not hold on the 23rd of February.

Notorious criminal, Ariyo, 4 others to die by hanging

An Ilorin High Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara state capital has sentenced a notorious criminal, Olatunji Ibrahim Ariyo, and four others to death by hanging.

Nigerians condemn the use of soldiers for election

The protest against military’s involvement in elections continued yesterday with a group in Abuja under the aegis of Save Democracy Women (SDW) cautioning against further deployment of soldiers for polls.

On Tuesday, a pro-democracy group known as Impact Future Nigeria (IFN) staged a peaceful protest in Abuja over the militarisation of the 2019 general elections.

After marching on some roads in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), members of the group, who carried placards with different inscriptions, proceeded to the United States Embassy to express their concerns to the international community. R. Kelly in jail for failing to pay $161,000 to ex-wife

Singer R. Kelly has been taken into custody for failure to pay $161,000 in child support and was jailed Wednesday evening, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office in Chicago.

Supporters are working to get Kelly, 52, out of jail by next Wednesday, publicist Darrell Johnson told reporters at the Richard J. Daley Center.

EFCC reveals Air Force ex-chief, who siphoned ₦12 billion

An investigator with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Tosin Owobo, yesterday told a Federal High Court, Lagos how a former Chief of Accounts in the Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Jacob Bola Adigun (rtd), used his companies to siphon N12 billion from the force’s intelligence account domiciled with a new generation bank.

Adigun is the second defendant in a N22.8 billion fraud charge preferred against erstwhile Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (rtd).

Atiku gets tribunal’s order to inspect electoral materials

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal Wednesday granted former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) permission to inspect and obtain Certified True Copy (CTC) of election materials used in the conduct of the February 23 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The tribunal also ordered INEC to make available all documents and electoral materials used for the election for the purpose of the inspection.
