Nigeria Army embarks on ‘Operation Show of Force’ on A’Ibom

The 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Uyo in Akwa Ibom has embarked on a joint show of force parade.

Speaking to newsmen in Uyo on Saturday during the exercise, Maj. Bashir Jajira, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations Officer, said the exercise was in conjunction with other sister security agencies in the state.

Jajira said that the command would deal decisively with anyone involved in political thuggery, ballot box snatching, arson and other electoral offences.

Kaduna to set up commission of inquiry on Kajuru killings

The Kaduna State Government said it would set up a judicial commission of inquiry into the recurring killings in Kajuru and Kachia Local Government Areas of the state.

Gov. Nasir El-Rufai made the statement on Saturday when he visited Maro, Karamai and Sakiya communities in the area where 40 persons were killed on Tuesday in alleged reprisal attacks.

The 6 Division Nigerian army, PortHarcourt, has paraded 11 National Youth Service Corps Members, 43 others over  alleged electoral fraud  in Rivers State.

The corps members were said, to have been arrested in a hotel in Gokana Local Government Area  of the State  filling result sheets in favour of a political party during the Presidential and National Assembly elections last week.
