2019 Polls: NIS Orders closure of borders from Friday Noon

Ahead of Saturday’s general election, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has ordered the closure of all borders by Friday, 12pm.

In a statement issued by the service public relations officer, Sunday James, and signed by the Comptroller General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, the borders will be opened by Sunday, 12 noon.

It stated that:”The federal government of Nigeria has directed that the nation’s land borders be closed from 12noon of Friday the 15th February, 2019 to 12noon of Sunday the 17th February, 2019.

Paul Manafort’s in trouble again. A federal judge said he “intentionally” lied to special counsel Robert Mueller’s office, the FBI and a grand jury. So, the judge pulled Manafort’s plea deal.

If everything goes according to plan today, a bipartisan border security and spending package bill will be voted on by the House and Senate and then be on President Trump’s desk by tonight.

Police prosecute two fake lawyers in Lagos

The Police, yesterday, arraigned two fake lawyers, Taiwo Alatise and Abiodun Olatoye, in an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

The Police charged Alatise, 53, and Olatoye, 67, with six counts bordering on conspiracy, stealing, obtaining under false pretences, forgery and being in possession of false documents. They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
